Why This Site Exists
Iowa treats many government records as public under Iowa Code Chapter 22, but that does not mean every Montgomery County booking record or photo appears in one online database. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office creates and holds county jail booking information. Iowa Courts records show what happens after the arrest, while the Iowa Department of Corrections publishes information about people serving state sentences. Federal and immigration custody use separate systems. This site brings those official routes, practical lookup steps, and request options together without copying or republishing official records.
Resources Collected Here
The pages focus on the real Montgomery County access paths and explain the limits of each source.
- The Montgomery County recent arrests hub explains jail inquiries, booking records, photographs, warrants, and lawful correction or removal paths.
- Red Oak, Villisca, and Stanton pages identify the city agency and the county booking route that may hold separate parts of the same event.
- Lookup instructions cover the Sheriff’s Office request process, same-day and multi-day arrest reports, IowaVINE, Iowa Courts, and the state corrections search.
- Records guidance explains how to ask for a booking sheet, arrest report, release information, or disclosable photo and how to request a fee estimate.
Limits of Our Role
Montgomery County Recent Arrests is privately operated. It is not connected with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Law Enforcement Center, Iowa Department of Corrections, any court, or any other government agency.
- We cannot hold, release, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send funds for someone.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We cannot promise that a listed office detail, fee, or policy has not changed.
Only the responsible sheriff, jail, court, or corrections office can verify current custody, filed charges, transfer, or release information.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are supplied by outside providers. Those companies control their own results, data practices, and prices. If a partner tool leads to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the reference pages available at no charge, but it does not affect which official sources are listed or amount to an endorsement of a partner result.
